Being a scoretable official is a great way to be connected with the game of basketball.

The scoretable is the communication point of the game and assists the referees, coaches and players with efficient running of the game.

SCORETABLE PATHWAY

Beginners

Basic knowledge of the game, scoring for local association juniors and seniors competition, see Scoring Resources section below for useful scoring information.

Free online beginners course is available through Basketball Australia’s Etrainu under Training Library -> BA Officiating – Scoretable -> “Basics of Community Scoretable”.

 

Level 1 Course

Improve your scoring skills and knowledge to score for junior representative competitions by completing an online Level 1 course & receiving an official accreditation.

The $30 Level 1 online course can be found on Etrainu under Training Library -> BA Officiating – Scoretable -> “Basketball Australia Scoretable”.

 

Level 2 Course

Improve skills further to score for NBL1 by completing a Level 2 course. It is a prerequisite to have completed a Level 1 online or face-to-face course, as well as practical experience at rep level for 12 months.

Level 3 Course

After gaining experience officiating NBL1, you may be eligible for selection in a Level 3 course. These courses are run by an accredited Level 3 Qld Educator.  This qualification enables WNBL and NBL officiating.

 

FIBA International Licence (Level 4)

After a minimum of 5 years practical experience with WNBL & NBL, and upon nomination by State Level 3 Educators, you may be eligible to be nominated for FIBA sanctioned international tournaments.
