With a combined six men’s & women’s QBL titles, along with a further five combined grand final appearances, Mackay Basketball were the most successful Queensland Basketball League club over the past decade (2010-2019).

While setting the benchmark for the QBL during this time, Mackay has seen a number of outstanding players hit the hardwood at the Crater at McDonald’s Mackay Multi-Sports Stadium.

Fans, sponsors, players & opposition team members can now have their say on who they believe should be named to the McDonald’s Mackay Meteors and Global Product Search Mackay Meteorettes QBL ‘TEAMS OF THE DECADE’ for the year’s 2010 to 2019.

Ten players will be named to the Meteorettes QBL ‘TEAM OF THE DECADE’ along with ten for the Meteors QBL ‘TEAM OF THE DECADE’.

To participate, simply rank the players listed on the poll in order (1 being the best) via their category (Backcourt & Frontcourt).

Players receiving the highest ranking via position will be named as starters, with the next best vote-getters being named on the bench.

The ‘Starting 5’ will be made up of 2 x Backcourt and 3 x Frontcourt players, while the same will be named for the ‘Bench 5’.

Voting for the Meteorettes QBL ‘TEAM OF THE DECADE’ opens tomorrow – Thursday, June 18 and will close on Tuesday, June 23.

Voting for the Meteors QBL ‘TEAM OF THE DECADE’ opens on Thursday, June 25 and will close on Tuesday, June 30. The Meteors poll will be open following the closing of the Meteorettes.

Mackay Basketball will then begin announcing its QBL ‘TEAMS OF THE DECADE’ as voted beginning on Wednesday, July 1.
